Hectic
A proposal tool for Hectic’s mobile app. Providing freelancers with a way to create and customize proposals with their clients.
Duration: 3 Weeks
My role: UX & UI designer
Concentration: Project planning, research, wireframing, visual design, and visual mockup.
Tools: Figma, artboard studio, google meet, slack.
Prototype
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Hectic is a digital workspace with all the tools needed to start, manage and grow a freelancing business. However, the current mobile app for Hectic does not have an established proposal tool.
Goal: Ensuring parity between the web and mobile versions of the proposal tool.
“Design the best possible proposal tool out there.” - Dano Qualls, Product designer
Mind Map
Based on our findings above we were able to establish concrete solutions for improvement. This set the groundwork we needed to create a simple user flow to guide us. So I also drafted a detailed sprint to meet deadlines and accomplish the necessary tasks needed.
Project Management
Our team was remote and to work with different time zones we coordinated our work progress through Trello. This process helped our design manager keep track of the deliverables and our work status.
Design System
Once we applied and familiarized ourselves with Hectic’s design system to ensure consistency throughout the mobile proposal tool.
Version 1
Takeaways
We found that the enlarged company logos on the home screen and job post screen heavily distracted users. We needed to find a better way to digest the logos visually. We also had trouble finding a better solution for the sort features.
Version 2A
Takeaways
After many iterations from the design team, we learned to adapt to constant changes to establish a good foundation for the Mobile proposal tool.

Next steps
Hectic’s goal was to complete an MVP by July 2023. We kickstarted the initial versions of the mobile proposal tool to speed up the design process for the senior designers on the team.
